What is Done to Your Car During Yearly Smog Check?

Overview

Aren’t you curious about what is done to your car during your yearly smog check? Every year or every other year I have to have a smog check done. In the past when I asked to do video taping, they always refused. Today I found a friendly shop to let me show you how exactly the smog check is done.

There are 2 different smog check procedures, one for cars from year 2000 and earlier, the other one is for newer cars (which is easier). There are 7 steps in your California smog check. They are computerized tests and takes about 20 seconds for each test. If you pass the test, the report then is sent directly to the DMV electronically.
